You can help!
Donate the individual items needed to make the health
kits! Bulk purchases will be divided up. Dark colored towels and
washcloths are preferred. We also need rubber bands (large and small) to
hold all these items together.
We will be collecting all through the Lenten Season.
Look for baskets in the Narthex!
Come on Sunday March 16 to put the health kits
together!
This will be a time of fellowship as we work together
to help others. Pot luck lunch included!

Why a Health Kit?
People who must flee their homes
quickly often do not have time to pack essential items. Health kits can
help refugees maintain personal hygiene while living in exile. Items may
also contribute to a new start for those who can return home. This is a
simple and concrete way we as a congregation can help those in need. By
sharing tools for better health and education, you bring new hope and
dignity to thousands of women, children and men throughout the world.
Soap, toothbrushes, towels…these ordinary things become extraordinary
when they are assembled and shared as gifts of love and comfort.
Why Lutheran World
Relief?
LWR works in
rural
areas around the world seeking to
make an impact and
build sustainable, resilient,
productive and just communities
through programs that:
Alleviate human
suffering in situations of both acute and chronic distress;
Reduce the vulnerability
of communities to natural and human-caused emergencies;
Assist communities in
satisfying their basic human rights for liberty and security,
education, food, health, and livelihood, in ways that are
socially, economically and environmentally sustainable; and,
Help communities become
empowered to influence decision-makers on issues that affect
their dignity and rights.
