Academy News
We ran our annual summer fun
camp during the month of June entitled “The 12 Days of
Summer”. From “an
island adventure” to “insect safari” we were busy exploring and
learning with our students. We
finished our program with a 4th of July bash complete with lots
of water play, a bike parade, hot dogs and watermelon.
Much fun was had by all!
In
the past we have also had a summer program in July, but with school
beginning on August 4th, the academy teachers will be busy
preparing for the start of the fall semester in July.
For us at the academy it feels like summer just started and now we
have to prepare for a new school year.
However, I realize that with young children at home and our
blistering weather the summer can seem like eternity.
Therefore, I have included a couple ideas to keep your children
entertained this month. Check
them out below.
There are still spaces available
for our preschool through kindergarten programs with tuition starting at
just $110.00 per month. If you
would like more information about our programs or to schedule a tour
please call me at 579-1453.

Build
a Rainbow
Put a few drops of
washable, nontoxic red paint and several ounces of water in a spray
bottle. Make two more bottles
using yellow and blue paint. Let
your little one squirt the paints on your driveway or sidewalk so they run
together and create new colors. How
many new colors can she make?
Play
dough
Roll play dough into
pea-sized balls, and stack them into a tall tower.
Flatten the dough into a round circle, and stick it with toothpicks
to make a design (smiley face, heart).
Use scissors to cut the
dough into logs or blocks, and build a house or an igloo.
Construction
Paper
Use a hole-punch to make
little circles of paper. With
glue, outline shapes on a sheet of paper and sprinkle the circles on the
shapes.
