A month-long food drive focused on the best thing to put between sliced bread: PEANUT BUTTER!

The goal is to collect 10,000 jars of peanut butter. Faith communities and other groups can raise the stakes by entering the competition to see which organization brings in the most jars total and the most jars per capita.

Bring your donation of jars of Peanut Butter to church and place in the bin marked ICS or on the table under the TV in the gathering area.

WHY

The Peanut Butter Party Food Drive addresses a consistent need for shelf-stable, easily distributed food items. Every family and individual that visits one of our food banks leaves with a jar of peanut butter.

In Praise of Peanut Butter

Peanut butter is a staple food in ICS food banks. Here’s why:

  • People of all ages love it – even picky kids.
  • A jar of peanut butter goes a long way to feed a family.
  • It doesn’t need refrigeration.
  • High protein content, fiber, and healthy fats make it nutritious and filling.
  • It doesn’t require heating or other preparation (no cooking facilities or fuel required).
