“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away;
behold, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17 )
Have you ever felt stuck in old habits or patterns that just don’t serve you anymore? If so, you’re not alone. Many people seek renewal and transformation in their lives. This brings us to a profound scripture that holds the key to a fresh start. This is exactly what the fresh start here at Beautiful Savior can bring! You are about to embark on a new chapter in the history of Beautiful Savior.
Last Sunday at the congregational meeting I kind of gave a pep talk to everyone talking about this new transformation taking place with great excitement. It will continue as long as everyone maintains the joy of ministry and remain active in the life of this congregation.
In the past year the Transition Team has undertaken many tasks to help you prepare for this new chapter. YOU have been encouraged to keep the faith and remain trusting that the process transition moves forward into the new chapter… the new creation for you. Then, all of you have done some of the hard work too by examining your role in better stewardship and stronger involvement! You have grown in your faith!
This scripture speaks about a new creation. Spiritually, when we talk about being a “new creation,” we’re referring to the profound changes that occur in a person’s life when they embrace faith in Jesus Christ. This transformation touches every aspect of life—emotional, spiritual, and even relational.
I believe a congregation goes through these changes when there is transition like the change of a pastor. I have spoken to many of you about loss, but I encourage you to look toward the future. Your past does not define your future. There is lots of hope! Each day is an opportunity for growth and improvement. May you begin to understand and pursue God’s plans for your life. Even amidst the current struggles of this congregation, there’s a new-found joy rooted in faith. You are a people who are full of the Spirit!
Surround yourself with others who share your faith can provide encouragement and accountability as you navigate your transformational journey. Ask God to help you understand the meaning of your new identity and continue to guide you in making changes that reflect that. You are going to be o.k.
Peace
Pastor Tony
