This Sunday's gospel lesson has that wonderful phrase in it: “Fishers of men.” (With apologies, I like the cadence of the older language.) We are, as modern day disciples, also called to “fish for people,” as were the original folks whom Jesus called. Whether we title it “evangelism,” or just being a good neighbor to those in need, the call to
outreach first asks of us one thing: to answer the question of the ages: Who do YOU say that I am?

That is, we just can’t throw the name Jesus in people’s faces and be done with it; we are called to invite others into a relationship with---what kind of savior is he for you? This coming Sunday, Epiphany III, we will consider what KIND of Jesus we are called to share with the world.
