This Sunday’s worship will be led by FUSION, the musical team that includes guitars, mandolin, drums, piano, and singers. The group was started on November 25, 2012 without an official name but with the well-defined, focused goal of blending different styles of worship music – anything from the old hymns of the faith of centuries past all the way to the contemporary Christian praise songs heard on today’s Christian radio, and everything in between, even Blue Grass Gospel songs! The name “FUSION” (Faith Upheld in Song Inspired by Old and New) was adopted in 2014 at the suggestion of our singer and flutist Becka Claasen, who later moved to Kansas City.
By mixing the old and new types of music, we are following Psalm 149:1: “Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of his faithful people.” There is just something really special about singing and praising God together!
So, even if you feel you can’t sing, maybe you can make a joyful noise of some sort (even just mouthing and whispering the words of the songs) to be part of that dynamic togetherness as we all sing a new song to the LORD!
Because FUSION is always growing and evolving, if you play an instrument of any type, or you want to sing with the group, there’s a place for you here! Reach out to our Director of Music, James Higgs (jameshiggs@beautifulsavior.net) for more details.
