Read John 17:1-11

Jesus prays for his disciples just before going out to the Garden. The last line, the "punchline" of all that came before is this.

"Holy Father, protect them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one, as we are one."

Word, proclamation, glory- all serve this one thing. For us to know the same "oneness" with God with one another!

That is what God seeks- love God with everything and love your neighbor as yourself. Does that sound familiar?

Notice all of the effort and energy in the world to divide, to cause you to fear or hate the other, to cause you to want to distance and protect yourself from them? How do you face that!?

Well, remember that you have Jesus praying for you! Then, in the strength of that ONE, rise again in love and grace and turn again to God and your neighbor.
