Truth? What?

"and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." John 8:32- Jesus
"You can't handle the truth!!!" ("A Few Good Men"- Col Jessep)
"The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off." ("Ted Lasso"- spoken by his therapist)
"What is truth?" John 18:38a- Pilate

What IS truth?
Superman fought for truth, justice, and the American way.
Pilate wondered what truth was (and got no answer from Jesus).
Col. Jessep was sure that people couldn't handle the REAL truth.
Ted Lasso had to get past what he was holding deep inside him to find his freedom, and having to face what he was holding meant he had to deal with the anger he was holding.

Yet Jesus holds that the truth will set you free.... “If you continue in my word...". John 8:31a
 
So- what is the truth of God in Jesus Christ- to you?
Does it set you free?
Free to serve and to love like Jesus (what it means to continue in his word)?
Free from guilt and shame (giving and receiving)?

For the truth of Christ sets us free.
It sets us free to live fully and truly as the people of God.

May you know that truth, and may you share that freeing gift with the world that God so loved, that he sent Jesus.
